From rugged ochre landscapes, to bustling townships, and to the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria, the North West Queensland region is not only a place of natural beauty but also home to resilient communities, businesses and industries.
Situated in the north west corner of Queensland with the Northern Territory and northern coastline forming part of its border, the region is home to around 29,000 people across an area that covers close to 350,000 km2. The main industries include agriculture, mining and tourism.
Recent projects included establishing key governance documents for the collaboration, conducting strategic workshops to identify an agreed vision, mission and objectives, an audit and analysis of SCADA systems, completing a skills needs analysis and joint procurement for lagoon desludging, reservoir cleaning and water mains air scouring.
